Bridal Shower Layout

Hi friends!  Marilyn here and I have a confession to make:  this is my FIRST layout - ever. 

First, I have my tip of the day for you.... Scrapbooks are a blessing.  Seriously, the memories we document today will be treasured beyond our lifetimes.

Instead of having these photos tossed and forgotten in a shoe box, I now have this great and lasting keepsake.


Bridal Shower Layout



Here is what you need:

• 12" scrapbook design paper.  Mine came from K&Company "SW Spring Blossom."
• Cricut cartridges:  Pretty Pennants, Storybook, Sweethearts
• Cardstock:  black, orange, yellow
• Twine
• Foam Tape
• Bling (gems and such)
• Adhesive
• White gel pen
• Family Photos


Layout Recipe:

Page Banner

• Cut a piece of twine the length of your scrapbook page.  Pull through a dollop of glue and lay onto your scrapbook page.  Make two bows and glue to each end.
• Cut banners from Cricut Pretty Pennants cartridge at 1 1/2" [BnrSclp1].  Attach to twine with foam tape.
• Cut letters from Cricut Storybook cartridge at 1".  The apostrophe on the "S" is actually the center from the letter "A". 

• "Bridal Shower" = cut image and shadow at 2 1/2" from Cricut Sweethearts cartridge; [Shower] found on page 51 of the folder.  Somewhere between the cutting and attaching, I lost the dot for the "I", so I used a gem in place.
• Photos:  Each photo is layered with black cardstock; cut to size.
• Name Banners:  cut at 1 1/2" from Cricut Pretty Pennants cartridge at 1 1/2" [BnrSclp1].  Add a white gem at the top.  Names are handwritten using a white gel pen.

• Journal Panel:  cut image and shadow at 2 1/4" from Cricut Storybook cartridge; [Marque2-s] found on page 66 of the folder.

Welcome, Friends!  Here is a Halloween Card I made using an Operation Write Home Sketch.

Designer Paper:  K and Company "Halloween and Fall" 12" x 12" pad.
Punch:  Martha Stewart (drippy goo)
Embossing Folder:  Cuttlebug "Charles" folder.

Card Recipe:

• Mat 1 (black) = 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".
• Mat 2 (orange bat pattern) = 5 1/4" x 4".
• Mat 3 (black border) = 1 5/8" x 4 7/8".
• Mat 4 (polka dot border) = 1 1/2" x 4 3/4".
• Mat 5 (black under image) = 3 1/2" x 4 1/4".  Bottom punched with Martha Stewart drippy goo punch.  White gel pen used for faux stitching.
• Mat 6 (checker pattern under image) = 3" x 4".
• Mat 7 and Mat 8 (black border under image) = 1/4" x 4".  Mats are embossed with Cuttlebug "Charles" folder.

• Banner Mat (black) = 1 3/4" x 3.5".  Banner bottom hand cut.
• Banner Mat (striped pattern) = 1.5" x 3.5". Banner bottom hand cut.
• Text "BOO" = cut at 1/2" from Cricut Varsity Letter cartridge.
• Doll (green under costume) = cut at 2 3/4" from Cricut Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge; [body][Blackout] found on page 29 of the folder.
• Fuzzy Monster = cut at 2 3/4" from Cricut Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge; [outft3][Accessory3] found on page 70 of the folder.  Eyes and Smile on Fuzzy Monster are hand drawn.  Image is mounted with foam tape.

Inside of Card:

• Mat 1 (black) = 5" x 3.75".
• Mat 2 (orange bat pattern) = 4.75" x 3.5".
• Mat 3 (beige) = 4.5" x 3.25".

Spooky!

Hello, Friends!  Here's a fun little "Spooky" card:

• Cricut Cartridge:  Mini Monograms
• Designer Paper:  K and Company "Halloween and Fall" 12" x 12" pad
• Twine:  Baker's Twine
• Punch:  Martha Stewart (drippy goo punch)
• Sentiment"  Craftsmart (purchased at Michaels)
• Other:  Googly Eyes.  Foam Tape.

A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25"
Cricut Mini Monsters

Card Recipe:

• Mat 1 (bat pattern) = 5 1/4" x 4".
• Mat 2 (black border) = 1 1/2" x 4" (before punching). 
• Mat 3 (dots border) = 1 1/4" x 4" (before punching).  Mat 3 was attached to Mat 2 before punching with Martha Stewart drippy goo punch.
• Mat 4 (black under image) = 4" x 3 1/4".  Mat mounted with foam tape.
• Mat 5 (orange swirl pattern) = 3 3/4" x 3".
• Twine = Baker's Twine.

 



• Slime Monster = cut image and shadow at 3" from Cricut Mini Monsters cartridge; [Gross] found on page 38 of the folder.  Googly Eyes added to image.
• Sentiment "Spooky" = from Craftsmart (purchased at Michaels).  Small Googly Eyes added to center over "oo" letters.

• Mat 1 (orange bat pattern) = 5" x 3.75".
• Mat 2 (beige) = 4.75" x 3.5".
• Mat 3 (black border) = 1" x 3.75" (before punching).  Border punched with Martha Stewart drippy goo punch.

Wedding Towel Cake

Bridal Shower is tomorrow for my future daughter-in-law.  I purchased towels on her bridal registry and decided it would be more interesting and fun to give them in the form of a wedding cake.

Ingredients:

• Towels:  2 bath, 1 hand, 1 finger tip purchased at Bed, Bath & Beyond
• Cricut Cartridge:  Accent Essentials, Plantin SchoolBook, Storybook, Sweethearts
• Punch:  Heart punch from Martha Stewart
• Other:  Glimmer Mist "Iridescent Gold", Glimmer Mist "Lemon Zest", Glimmer Mist "Peach Delight", white tulle, gems, Stickles, corsage pins from Michaels, Popsicle Sticks from Michaels, green paint, hot glue.

Towel Cake

Towel Cake Recipe:

• Bottom Layer:  Roll finger towel and 1 bath towel together.  Wrap the hand towel around and secure in back with corsage pins.
• Top Layer:  Roll 1 bath towel.  Secure in back with corsage pins.
• * Bath Towels are folder length-wise into fourths.
• Tie white tulle around both layers.
• Bells on bottom layer:  cut image and shadow at 2" from Cricut Sweethearts cartridge; [Bells] found on page 56 of the folder.  Gem glued to center of bow image.  Tie onto tulle with white twine.
• Flowers = cut 20 each (all from white card stock):  one set at 2", one set at 1 3/4", one set at 1 1/2" - from Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge; [Accent24-s] found on page 54 of the folder.  Spray half of 2" and 1 3/4" flower cuts with Glimmer Mist "Iridescent Gold."  Spray other half or 2" and 1 3/4" flower cuts with Glimmer Mist "Lemon Zest."  Set aside to dry.  Spray all of the 1 1/2" flower cuts with Glimmer Mist "Peach Delight."  Set aside to dry.  Once dry, the flowers will be colored as white shimmer, yellow shimmer and peach shimmer.
• Flower Stems = paint round popsicle sticks with green paint and set aside to dry.
• Flower Leaves = cut at 10 (from green card stock):  one set at 1 3/4", one set at 1 1/2" = from Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge; [Accent41-s] found on page 72 of the folder.
• Flower Assembly = bend each flower petal in the center.  Glue together one each: 2" in white, 1 3/4" in yellow, 1 1/2" in peach. Other flowers will be assembled as:  2" in yells, 1 3/4" in white, 1 1/2" in peach.  Glue gem to center of each flower.  Glue one leaf to back.   Attach to green popsicle stick using hot glue.  I chose to make some flowers without the 2" flower layer.

• Poke the flower sticks around the bottom cake layer. 
• Top flowers are attached with foam tape.
• Car at top = cut image and two shadows at 3 3/4" from Cricut Sweethearts cartridge; [CarCuple] found on page 65 of the folder.  After assembled, hot glue a green popsicle stick to the back of the car's shadow.  Attach the second shadow to the back using foam tape around the popsicle stick.
• Date on back of car = cut at 1/2" from Cricut Plantin SchoolBook.

Cake Board

Cake Board:

• Flowers = cut seven flowers from white card stock at 1 1/2".  Spray with Glimmer Mist "Peach Delight."  Once dried, glue around edge of cake board.  Add a gem to the center.
• Names "Jessica & Dave" = cut letters and shadows at 2" from Cricut Storybook cartridge.  Glue around edge of cake board.  Punch two small hearts and glue on either side of the "&" symbol.  Add stickles to "&" symbol.
• Heart & Couple Silhouette = cut image and shadow at 5" from Cricut Sweethearts cartridge; [HeartCpl-s] found on page 40 of the folder.  
• Text "I Do . . . " cut at 1" from Cricut Sweethearts cartridge; [Ido-s] found on page 60 of the folder.
