Shadow Box Saturday - Christmas Edition

Christmas is around the corner!  So, yesterday I had a couple of friends over and we decided to create some Christmas Shadow Boxes.

Shadow Boxes use Square1 (not vinyl).  This product is so much easier to use!


Shadow Box:  Dashing Through the Snow

  • Shadow Box is 8" x 10" in size.
  • Text = purchased in the Silhouette store #14488 and sized at 3.38" in height.  Printed and cut using Square1 (not vinyl).  Once applied to glass, the "dashing" was highlighted with silver Stickles and "Snow" was highlighted with diamond Stickles.
  • Sleigh and Horse = purchased in the Silhouette store #35070 and sized at 2.855" in height.
  • Inside Shadow Box = designer paper from Recollections.  White tulle with silver accents was bunched up and added to give snowy effect.
  • Bow = three red glitter jingle bells and one silver jingle bell attached with curling ribbon to white tulle.  Entire bow attached to shadow box using hot glue.

  • Shadow Box is 8" x 10" in size.
  • Text = font typed and cut in beige using Silhouette on Square1.  Once applied to glass, gold Stickles was used for highlighting.  Text together sizes 3" x 4".  Font is Brannboll Fet and was downloaded free from dafont.com.
  • Inside Shadow Box = designer paper purchased at Hobby Lobby.  Jingle bells are not attached and roll around freely if you turn the box.
  • Ribbon on outside = wired ribbon purchased at Hobby Lobby and hot glued to box.

  • Shadow Box is 8"x10" in size.
  • Text = font typed and cut in black using Silhouette on Square 1.  Once applied to glass, gold, red and silver Stickles was used for highlighting.  Text together sizes 3" x 5".  Font is unknown and was found on my computer.
  • Inside Shadow Box = designer paper from Recollections.  Sparkle ornaments not attached and roll around freely if you turn the box.
  • Ribbon on outside = wired ribbon purchased at Hobby Lobby and hot glued to box.

Train Around the Christmas Tree

Hello, Friends!  My card today was created using a digi stamp from A Day For Daisies.  I love their Choo-Choo train.  Besides using this adorable digi stamp, we are also using the Letterpress Technique.

  • Digital Image:  Choo-Choo Train from A Day For Daisies
  • Technique:  Letterpress
  • Silhouette Images:  Clouds from Silhouette Store
  • Designer Paper:  The Paper Studio "I Believe in Santa" 8.5"x11" pack
  • Embossing:  Cuttlebug "Divine Swirl" folder
  • Other:  Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress Ink.  Stickles.
A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25"

Card Recipe:
  • Mat 1 (blue pattern) = 5 3/8" x 4 1/8". 
  • Mat 2 (white) = 5.25" x 4".  Mat embossed with Cuttlebug "Divine Swirls" folder.  Folder inked with Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress Ink before embossing.
  • Mat 3 (red border) = 1" x 4"
  • Train = 5" in length.  Digital Image from A Day for Daisies.  Silhouette used to trace, offset and cut.  Image was colored with colored pencils.  Train mounted with foam tape.
  • Clouds = .355" in length.  Clouds purchased though Silhouette Store, Lori Whitlock design.  Stickles added.
  • Christmas Trees = from same designer paper, fussy cut.

Inside of Card:
  • Mat 1 (red) = 5" x 3.75"
  • Mat 2 (blue pattern) = 4.75" x 3.5"
  • Mat 3 (white) = 4.5" x 3.25"
