DIY - Sharpie Shoes

Hello, Friends!  Thought I would share with you how I celebrated Mother's Day this year.  My "girls" and I got together to make sharpie shoes.   We searched Pinterest for some inspirational designs then went and purchased canvas shoes at Target.

Here's our group picture showing us all sporting our "before" canvas shoes.

I purchased several packs of Sharpie pens at Hobby Lobby the day before.

And using Pinterest inspired designs as well as our own inspirations, we started decorating.

Here's our "after" sharpie shoe picture:

And a close-up of my shoes:

DIY Couch Pillow

Hello, Friends.  I looked at my couch and decided it needed a punch of color.  So, going to Hobby Lobby I purchased a chevron pillow cover and a pillow insert.

Next, I went to my Silhouette and typed in my last name and color-filled it in black.   I printed the text on Square 1 Iron-On and cut.

Lastly, I used by heat press and applied the Square1 at 325 degrees for 4 seconds.  Inserted the pillow and put it on my couch.

Chocolate Truffles

Hello, Friends.   I'm a chocolate addict... I admit it.  So, when I saw a Pinterest recipe for chocolate truffles and only two ingredients, I was on-board.   This recipe originally comes from Little House Living.

Only 2 ingredients:  cream cheese and chocolate
Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • chocolate chips
Directions:

Combine cream cheese and 1/3 of chocolate chips
  1. Place soften cream cheese in a bowl
  2. Melt 1/3 chocolate chips
I used my mixer to mix the melted chocolate with the cream cheese
  3. Mix together
    Spoon onto cookie sheet
  4. Spoon onto wax paper covered cookie sheet
Place in refrigerator for a couple of hours
  5. Leave in refrigerator for a couple of hours
    Melt remaining chocolate chips
  6. Melt remaining 2/3 chocolate chips
Top or dip truffles in the melted chocolate then refrigerate overnight
  7. Spoon or dip chocolate onto truffle balls
  8. Refrigerate overnight
    Store in plastic container
  9. Move truffles into plastic container and refrigerate
That's it!  Super simple.  The hardest part is waiting during the refrigerating parts!
