Wedding Champagne Glasses

Hello, Friends!  I spent Sunday afternoon with my DIL Ashley making these beautiful champagne glasses.  Ashley is a bridesmaid for a friend's upcoming wedding.  We found lots of examples on Pinterest and almost all were priced at  $12 per glass.

Ashley went to a local discount store and picked the glasses up.  I found a free dress design on a Facebook Silhouette group and together we were able to make the glasses at around $3.50 each.  We were able to bypass using vinyl and opted instead to use Square1.  Using Square1 we colored the dresses in navy and the bows in yellow to match the actual bridesmaid dresses.  Then we just printed and cut once - sooooooo much easier over vinyl folks!  All in one layer that applied easily on the glass.

Supplies

  • Glasses - 6 glasses from discount store, approximately $1 each
  • Square1 - two sheets, around $2 a sheet (8.5" x 11")
  • Dress Designs - free.  Found on Silhouette Facebook group.  Sized at 2.5" in height.
  • Swirls - .50 cent design purchased from Silhouette store.  Design #42085 Swirls set of 7 made by Miss Kate's Cuttables.
  • Font for initials - Alex Brush, sized at 45.1 pt.

A Hundred Hearts

Welcome Friends!  And welcome Spring!  Makes my heart happy.   Here's a card I made using the Sketch posted on the SBC Facebook Page.   I made this card using my Silhouette Cameo.  My tip: If using Silhouette, design and save your card layout to enable re-use of your creation.

  • Sketch:  SBC Facebook
  • Designer Paper:  Silhouette
  • Ribbon:  Michael's
  • Sentiment:  unknown author

A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25"

Starting with the SBC FB Sketch, I created an outline and layout of how I wanted my card.

Snapshot of my Silhouette mat and layout prior to printing and cutting
I used banners found in the Silhouette store and color-filled them using the basic colors found in the Silhouette software.  I always save an image of how the final card should look on the left (off of the cutting mat).  That way, if I ever want to make this card again, I'll know how it should look when finished.   Designing your card this way produces a Print and Cut version that can easily be reproduced (handy when making cards for OWH).

Top layer is one piece and attached using foam tape.  Edges were inked using Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

Inside of card is just one layer as well.  All printed and cut on the Silhouette.

Just Keep Swimming

Hello, Friends!  Marilyn here with a scrapbook layout.  I created this underwater scene using images from Miss Kate's Cuttables and a couple of Internet images that were traced.  My tip:  Use the Print and Cut feature on your Silhouette to make your images.

The fish, water bubbles, waves and title are all from Miss Kate's Cuttables.  Import the PNG images into your Silhouette program, then trace.  You will be left with a Print and Cut image that can be re-sized to fit your project.

The scuba diver was found with an internet search.  I imported the image and traced, creating a print and cut image.

Seaweed images were also found with an internet search.  They are all the same image, just re-sized and flipped.  Seaweed was printed on Square1.
Stickles were added to water bubbles.  Edges of images were inked using Tim Holtz Faded Blue Jeans Distress Ink.
