Wine Glass Lampshades

Hello, Friends.  Today I'm creating Wine Glass Lampshades.

Here's what you'll need:

  • Wine Glass / Champagne Glass
  • Tea Light (battery one)
  • Two Sheets of 8.5" x 11" card stock.
  • Wine Glass Lampshade Pattern. $2.32
Step 1:  I purchased my wine glass lampshade pattern from SVGHUT on Etsy.  There are many different suppliers and styles.  I picked a wedding theme as I thought I would most likely use it again.  Also, this vendor provided 3 different file formats with the single purchase:  SVG, PNG and SCAL3.

Step 2:  Download your files and cut out the two patterns.  I used the SVG file format as I can pull it directly into my Silhouette software.  You'll need two cuts:  one for the underside and one for the top.

I cut the larger piece out of plain white card stock.  The top piece is in a designer card stock pattern.

Step 3:  Curve the two pieces into a cone and tape the ends.  Really that's all you do.  I just used my ATG.  It was at this step that I realized my wine glass was too wide for the lamp shades and I switched out for a champagne glass.

Step 4:  Stack the cones on top of each other.  Fancy one on top.

Step 5:  Add battery tea light to wine glass and top with lamp shades.  My picture doesn't show the tea light (dead battery).

Wouldn't these be pretty on tables at a wedding reception?

Thank you for visiting today! ~ Marilyn
