Masculine Birthday Card

I don't know about you, but I find making a masculine card to be a challenge.  Here is a birthday card I made for a male co-worker whose birthday is tomorrow.

  • Cricut Cartridge:  Create a Critter
  • Designer Paper:  My Mind's Eye "Sunshine" 6"x6" pack.
  • Sentiment:  Scrappy Mom's "Hooray for Birthdays"
  • Embossing:  Cuttlebug "Charles" folder.

A2 sized card = 5.5" x 4.25"
Cricut Create a Critter

Card Recipe:
  • Mat 1 (black) = 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".
  • Mat 2 (checkered) = 5 1/4" x 4".
  • Mat 3 (polka dot border) = 1" x 4 1/8".
  • Mat 4 (black under cupcake) = 3 1/4" x 3 1/4".
  • Mat 5 (yellow checkered under cupcake) = 3" x 3".
 
  • Cupcake = cut at 2 3/4" from Cricut Create a Critter cartridge; [Cupcake-s] found on page 36 of the folder.  Top of cupcake embossed with Cuttlebug "Charles" folder.  Cupcake is mounted with foam tape.
  • Sentiment "Happy Birthday!" = from Scrappy Mom's "Hooray for Birthdays" stamp set.

Inside of Card:
  • Mat 1 (brown) = 5" x 3 3/4".
  • Mat 2 (beige) = 4 3/4" x 3 1/2".
  • Corner = created by hand.

  • Mat 1 (lime green) = 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".
  • Mat 2 (polka dot design) = 5 1/4" x 4".
  • Mat 3 (black) = 3 1/2" x 4 3/4".
  • Mat 4 (orange pattern) = 3 1/4" x 4 1/2".
  • Zig Zag Border = made using EK Success punch.


  • Monster = cut image and shadow at 2 3/4" from Cricut Create a Critter 2 cartridge; [MnstrBug][Icon] found on page 61 of the folder.  Image is mounted with foam tape.  White gel pen used for faux stitching and eyes of monster.
  • Sentiment "Monster Mash" = from CardzTV "More Spooky Sayings" stamp set.

  • Mat 3 (white) = 4 1/2" x 3 1/4".
